Tino

Tino is used to emphasise something and can mean ‘very’, ‘quite’, ‘importance’, ‘value’, ‘significance’, ‘essence’, ‘main’ and ‘important’. However, the most common use of tino is to mean ‘very’. When using the word tino to emphasise something it precedes the adjective or noun, eg. he tino pai tēnei or kei te tino harikoa ahau.
