You have already learnt several uses of ai. This word ai is also used following active or passive verbs to indicate that something is done regularly or habitually. Note that no particles precede the verb in this usage.

Hei tauira:

a. Totohe ai rāua. They argue regularly.
e. He tokomaha ngā tāngata o Ōtepoti kanikani ai i ngā Hātarei. There are many Dunedin residents who dance on Saturdays.
